The CD4094BD is a high-speed serial-in/parallel-out shift register with an integrated output latch and tri-state control. It offers key advantages such as simple operation, low power consumption, strong output drive capability, and flexible control features.
The pin configuration of the CD4094BD is as follows:
- Pin 1 (Latch Enable - STROBE): When this pin is high, the 8-bit parallel outputs Q1–Q8 update on the rising edge of the serial clock based on the incoming data. When the pin is low, the outputs are latched, maintaining their state. This allows for easy chip selection and cascading of multiple devices.
- Pin 2 (Data - DATA): Serial data input terminal.
- Pin 3 (Clock - CLOCK): Serial clock input terminal. Data is shifted in on the rising edge of this clock.
- Pin 15 (Output Enable - OE): Controls the output state of the parallel outputs. When held low, the outputs go into a high-impedance (tri-state) mode. This is useful for applications like blinking digital displays or sharing output lines.
- Pins 9 (QS) and 10 (Q’S): Serial data outputs used for cascading multiple CD4094BD devices. The QS output becomes active on the rising edge of the 9th clock pulse, while Q’S becomes active on the falling edge of the same pulse.
Features:
- Wide working power supply+3V~15V
- High anti-interference performance of 0.45 VDD (typ.)
- Low power consumption, TTL compatible,
- Can drive two 74L or one 74LS channels
- Tri state output
- Full static operation (15V)
