This I2S digital amplifier based on the MAX98357 I2S Class D amplifier module works great with microcontrollers with I2S audio outputs like ESP32 and can be applied to projects like IoT nodes, smart home devices, Bluetooth audio players, and so on. The module supports a 3.3V-5V power supply. And it can output over 2.5W of power when driven by 5V and a 4Ω speaker. Besides, it allows users to set different modes (off, left channel, right channel, and mixed) by changing the resistance on the SD port. The product defaults to mixed mode. Featuring a small size, this I2S amplifier comes with stamp holes that enable it to be directly plugged into or mounted on a PCB and breadboard. Also, it is designed with PH2.0 and stamp holes for connecting speakers, flexible and convenient to use.
Applications:
  1. Bluetooth Audio Player
  2. IoT Node Audio Player
  3. Smart Home Voice Interaction
  4. Robotic Device Audio Player

Features:

  1. MAX98357 I2S digital Class D amplifier, power >2.5W
  2. 3.3V~5V voltage power supply
  3. Switchable sound channel
  4. Adjustable gain
  5. Stamp holes design, support SMT and DIP
  6. Two ways to connect a speaker: PH2.0 and stamp holes

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
