The G80 Resonant Piezoelectric AE Sensor is a narrowband passive piezoelectric Acoustic Emission (AE) sensor designed for low-frequency signal detection across the 20 kHz to 180 kHz range. Built with a highly durable stainless-steel housing, the sensor ensures long-term reliability even in harsh industrial environments.

Its ceramic sensing interface enhances signal transmission, while the M5 connector provides stable and secure connectivity. G80 Resonant Piezoelectric AE Sensor ideal for structural health monitoring, crack detection, leakage inspection, and material testing, the G80 offers consistent, rugged, and dependable performance for various NDT and AE applications.

Note: Refer to datasheet in the ATTACHMENTS section for more info. regd. the product.

Features:

  1. Narrowband low-frequency AE detection (20–180 kHz)
  2. Passive piezoelectric sensing element
  3. Durable stainless-steel construction
  4. Ceramic interface for improved signal coupling
  5. High stability during long-term monitoring
  6. Rugged and impact-resistant design
  7. M5 connector for secure installation
  8. Compatible with standard AE monitoring systems

Applications:

G80 is a passive piezoelectric acoustic emission sensor. The low frequency response makes it suitable for monitoring large objects or objects made of highly attenuating material, such as concrete steel and geologic structures. It also could be used for monitoring leakage of pressure vessels and for detecting partial discharge.

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
