TMC2208 is an ultra-quiet two-phase stepper motor driver chip with a continuous drive current of 1.4A, a peak current of 2A, a voltage range of 4.75V-36V, and 256 subdivisions; with patented technology spreadCycle" (high dynamic chopper Wave generator) stealthChop2" (ultra-quiet technology), microPlyert" (subdivision control). The flexible microplyer interpolation unit can provide up to 256 subdivisions, and can still perfectly realize sine even in systems with limited pulse frequency. Control; Since stealthChop2 ultra-quiet technology is widely used in 3D printing, these components are also designed to be compatible with existing 3D printer electronics, eliminating the expensive cost of redesign, with standard step/dir interfaces. It is simple and convenient to use.
Features: 1. Subdivision up to 256; 2. No loss of synchronization when driving with high load; 3. Logic interface level: 3-5V; 4. Input voltage range: 4.75-36V DC; 5. Subdivision mode can Select 2, 4, 8, 16 subdivisions; 6. StealthChop2 can drive the motor to work in extremely quiet conditions, and can control the motor sound below 10dB decibels, and the noise is much lower than the traditional current control method; 7. Traditional stepper In motor drive solutions, there will be an excess current, or current dead zone, when the current crosses zero. At this time, there is no current in the motor coil. This is a major factor causing motor vibration. SpreadCycle ensures that the stepper motor has a smooth transition without dead zone current when it passes through the point. It uses several TMC2208 stepper motor driver chips with almost no jitter; 8. SpreadCycle PWM new wave mode automatically configures a magnetic field between slow and fast attenuators. hysteresis attenuation function. The average current reflects the configured normal current. There will be no transition period when the sine wave crosses the zero point, which reduces the fluctuations of current and torque and makes the current waveform closer to the sine wave. Compared with the traditional constant chopper type, SpreadCycle PWM chopper The motor under wave mode control runs much more smoothly and smoothly.

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
