Features Based on a high performance Cortex processor, combined with high-security commercial fingerprinting algorithm, the UART Fingerprint Sensor (D) features functionalities like fingerprint enrolling, image acquisition, feature finding, template generating and storing, fingerprint matching, and so on. Without any knowledge about the complicate fingerprinting algorithm, all you need to do is just sending some UART commands, to quickly integrate it into fingerprint verification applications which require small size and high precision. 1. Easy to use by some simple commands, you do not have to know any fingerprint technology, or the module inter structure 2. Commercial fingerprinting algorithm, supports functions like fingerprint enrolling, fingerprint matching, fingerprint image acquisition, and fingerprint feature uploading, stable performance, fast identification 3. Capacitive sensitive detection, just touch the collecting window lightly for fast verification 4. Highly integrated hardware, processor and sensor in one small chip, suitable for small size applications 5. Narrow stainless steel rim, supports 360 degree omni-directional verification 6. Embedded human sensor, the processor will enter sleep automatically, and wake up when touching, lower power consumption 7. Onboard UART connector, easy to connect with hardware platforms like STM32 and Raspberry Pi1. Specifications 1. Sensor: Capacitive touch sensor 2. Resolution: 508 DPI 3. Image pixels: 160 x 160 4. Image greyscale: 8 5. Sensor dimension: R15.5 mm 6. Fingerprint capacity: 150 7. Matching time: Less than 500ms (1:N, and N Less than or equal 100) 8. False acceptance rate: Less than 0.001% 9. False rejection rate: Less than 0.1% 10. Operating voltage: 2.7~3.3V 11. Operating current: Less than 50mA 12. Sleep current: Less than 16uA 13. ESD: Contact discharge 8KV / aerial discharge 15KV 14. Communication port: UART 15. Baudrate: 19200 bps 16. Operating environment temperature: -20 degree C~70 degree C; Humidity: 40%RH~85%RH (no condensation) 17. Storage environment temperature: -40 degree C~85 degree C; Humidity: Less than 85%RH (no condensation)

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
