The Adafruit SPA06-003 Temperature + Pressure Sensor – STEMMA QT is a compact, low-cost digital barometric sensor designed for DIY electronics, drones, and environmental monitoring projects. It measures both air pressure and temperature using a capacitive sensing element that ensures stable performance across temperature changes. While it does not aim to replace high-end Bosch BMP sensors, it delivers excellent value for applications that require reliable altitude and pressure sensing at an affordable price.

To simplify integration, Adafruit mounts the SPA06-003 on a custom PCB with a 3.3V regulator and logic level shifting, making it safe for use with 3V and 5V microcontrollers. The board follows the STEMMA QT form factor, allowing solder-free I2C connections and easy chaining with compatible sensors.

Features:

  1. Measures both barometric pressure and temperature
  2. Pressure range from 300 to 1100 hPa
  3. Typical relative pressure accuracy of ±3 Pa
  4. Temperature accuracy of ±1°C
  5. Integrated 24-bit ADC with calibration coefficients
  6. Built-in FIFO storing up to 32 measurements
  7. Supports I2C and SPI communication
  8. STEMMA QT connectors for quick, solderless connections

Package Includes:

1 x Adafruit SPA06-003 Temperature + Pressure Sensor - STEMMA QT

1 x Header Pin

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
